Our students in Mosaic Club created these colourful and creative mosaic tiles and coasters. The children enjoyed designing their tiles and deciding their colour themes and patterns.
Traditionally, Islamic architecture used mosaic technique to decorate religious buildings and palaces after the Muslim conquests of the eastern provinces of the Byzantine Empire. In Syria and Egypt the Arabs were influenced by the great tradition of Roman and Early Christian mosaic art.
Mosaic art is another expressive art form that does not require figurative portrayal to make a beautiful art piece; allowing children to showcase their creativity whilst adhering to Islamic Principles ٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّٰ
