Curriculum

‘Pupils of all ages develop secure knowledge, understanding and skills across a broad range of subjects. The curriculum includes a balance of secular and religious subjects.’ OFSTED 2018

The North Road Academy Curriculum is designed to reflect our vision and commitment to our values. We have developed a wider syllabus to work from: the Islamic curriculum is our core; which is an amalgamation of aspects of the National Curriculum with authentic Islamic Studies. This provides an eclectic, dynamic and creative curriculum thus empowering students with a broad learning experience, in a caring, well-resourced organised and stimulating learning environment.

The curriculum is delivered largely through a theme based organisation but also skills based work. Many activities require students to gain first-hand experiences and we organise educational visits to make this possible; enabling us to enhance students’ thinking and practical skills, and further improving Literacy and Numeracy skills across the board. Furthermore, students develop personal thinking and social skills through our practical, holistic curriculum.

The school will make available particulars of academic performance during the preceding school year, including results of any public examinations. Parents will be provided with an annual written report of progress and attainment of their child.
