Our After School Poetry Club has been studying the famous ‘Chocolate Cake’ poem by Michael Rosen. On the last day of term, the club celebrated with an actual chocolate cake of their own!
In the poem, Michael explains how much he loves chocolate cake and how one night, he snuck downstairs in the middle of the night to “take a little look at it”. Then he ends up trying to sneakily get little bits of it and ends up eating the whole cake and gets in trouble the next morning with his mum.
Children took turns to act out the poem which helped boost their confidence to perform in front of their peers and teachers الحمد لله
