Phonics is an effective way of teaching children to read and improving literacy levels.
Phonics teaches children how to recognise and identify the sounds that each individual letter makes, and how to blend these sounds from left to right to make a word. This enables children to ‘decode’ new words that they hear or see. This is the first important step in learning to read, to develop their wider reading skills, and a love of reading in sha Allah
