Curriculum

The North Road Academy Curriculum is designed to reflect our ethos and meet our aims and objectives. The springboard and backbone of the curriculum is our Islamic Curriculum, which is amalgamated with aspects of the National Curriculum to ensure what we teach our Learners does not contradict Islam and provides a dynamic Creative Curriculum. This will provide Learners with a broad learning experience, in a caring, well-resourced organised and stimulating learning environment.

The curriculum is delivered largely through a theme based organisation but also skills based work. Many activities require Learners to gain first-hand experiences and we organise educational visits for our Learners to make this possible. (We also work on developing Learners’ thinking and practical skills, as well as ensuring they are developing Literacy and Numeracy skills across all subject areas.)

Alongside core Literacy and Numeracy, our Learners develop personal thinking and social skills through our practical, holistic curriculum.

We pay special attention to Health and Safety regulations by providing appropriate activities in a safe environment and we also encourage healthy living and other initiatives.

The school will make available particulars of academic performance during the preceding school year, including results of any public examinations. Parents will be provided with an annual written report of progress and attainment of their child.
